We polder away in the Netherlands; yes-but, yes-but and again yes-but.
Under the guise of “looking for support” everybody can interminably
take part in a conversation. As long as nobody falls by the wayside. As
long as we are nice to each other. The consequence: everything becomes
mealy-mouthed. And this is how a culture of saying yes and doing no is
created.
As a director and trainer Berthold Gunster developed the Yes-and,
No-because, Yes-but® Philosophy: a concrete tool to understand and
change behaviour of people in organisations. The Yes-but® Show provides
insight into the source of yes-but behaviour. Where we appear to be
assertive, we unnoticeably give in. Where we appear to be critical, we
act opportunistically. And where we want to be cooperative, we appear
to be moaning. Despite our “good intentions” the effect of our
behaviour is often resistance, irritation and aversion. How can you
handle people and situations in a yes-and way? And what does this look
like? For whom is it meant? The programme is suitable for each and every
organisation that intends to have its people look at each other and the
organisation in a different, proactive way. And, where this already
happens, to do this even better. What is the effect?Despite the short
duration of the programme, the Yes-but® Show has the effect of a
marking in time. The content is clear, revolutionary and unavoidable.
Hundreds of thousands of people and hundreds of organisations, home and
abroad, have in the meantime participated in the programme. With a
positive effect on the culture of the organisation. ‘Yes-but’ will
never sound the same. When can I use it?The Yes-but® Show can be used
as a start or accelerator of a culture or change process, as a
(festive) conclusion or as a stand-alone programme. The show is also
very suitable for the start, interval or conclusion of a symposium or
conference. Duration Yes-but® Show: 75 minutes.
Number of spectators Yes-but® Show: 10 to 2,500 people.
