Yes-but... what’s it to me?

Yes-but® is a practical philosophy that uses `flipthinking` to transform problems into opportunities.

Berthold Gunster has thus far written five books about this theory.  Briefly put: Yes-but thinking is reasoning from a world of problems and constraints in order to solve problems. If we are not careful we might be bouncing back and forth between problem and solution. Yes-and thinking starts with facts. Things the way they are. Starting from these facts we can try and create new possibilities.  Yes-but® offers shows, workshops and trainings: a mix of theatre, lecture and audience interaction. Yes-but® also offers a variety of products and books on its Dutch website. Yes-but® performs exclusively in-company. Yes-but® can or course perform its programme in a theatre but it is no problem performing it on company grounds. Yes-but® has all the equipment needed for a performance. Decor, sound and the like. The only thing that a client would have to provide is a location and seating and a stage for groups over 50 people. A Yes-but programme can be performed for groups from 15 to 2500 participants.

Yes-but® programmes can cause quite the commotion.

First, the audience will have a pleasant and entertaining experience. Yes-but® will stimulate the brain cells, make the audience laugh and give them the communal experience of learning how to recognise thinking patterns  and replace them with new ways of thinking. People will see that it`s not really that hard to start thinking in terms of possibilities instead of constraints and threats.

Over 400.000 people and hundreds of organisations have already experienced a Yes-but® programme. The enthusiasm, animation and fun come bursting out the seams with every programme. Whether it’s a workshop, show or intervention - Yes-but® strikes a chord with people. Both intellectually and spiritually. Irrefutable and intensely compelling. All with positive effects in the workplace and at home.  Past Yes-but® participants have said to have remembered clearly, even after 5 years of having a show, the moment where they experienced their first `flip thinking`. Experience shows that freedom of thought, creativity, motivation and satisfaction of participants increases. As one of the participants put it: "Yes-but will never sound the same".

What makes a Yes-but® programme unique?

  • A dazzling fast paced show that in 30 minutes, 75 minutes or 2.5 hours shows its participants a whole new way of thinking.
  • Irresistible humour and scenes taken from everyday life make the theory accessible to everyone.
  • Yes-but® shows energises the participants so that they leave a show filled with energy and enthusiasm.
  • Yes-but® performs for very small and very large groups.
  • Participants are treated respectfully and are made to feel safe while in the meantime being taught a whole new way of thinking.
  • Any programmes content will linger in the participants mind for a long time.
  • Participants will experience a communal "us-feeling”, which has a positive effect on company culture.
  • Because of this communal experience the learning will continue long after the programme.
  • A Yes-but® programme turns it participants to a new way of thinking and working together. Thinking in terms of opportunities and possibilities instead of thinking in terms of constraints and threats.
  • The Yes-but® philosophy is applicable to all facets of life. Whether it be business, personal or everyday life.
  • Because of the simple way it works and if conveyed from one person to the next, the Yes-but® techniques are seeing more and more use every day.
  • With the help of one of Berthold Gunsters books people can further explore the Yes-but® philosophy at home or at work.
